Utila is a small island in the Caribbean Sea, part of the Bay Islands of Honduras. The tropical gem is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. Known for its laid-back atmosphere and vibrant marine life, Utila is a paradise for divers and nature lovers alike. The island boasts crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, and abundant ocean life (keeping our fingers crossed for a whale shark!).
Famous for its beautiful coral reefs and ideal diving conditions, the local culture is friendly and welcoming, with a strong focus on sustainability and eco-tourism. Utila has a Caribbean pulse to it, a place that comes alive both under the sea and in the Honduran island culture.
Utila is easily accessible by ferry from the neighboring island of Roatán or from mainland Honduras via La Ceiba.
To reach Utila from mainland Honduras, you can fly into either Tegucigalpa (TGU) or San Pedro Sula (SAP). From there, take a bus, shuttle, or domestic flight to La Ceiba, where you can catch the ferry to Utila at either 9:00 AM or 4:30 PM.
For a more direct route, fly into Roatán and take the 2:00 PM ferry to Utila.
While there are limited flights directly into Utila, they tend to be expensive and infrequent. Pickup from the ferry terminal is included in the retreat price, but pickup from the Utila airport is at your own expense.

Liz is a traveling yoga instructor and underwater photographer with a deep love for the ocean. Her journey has taken her around the world, and along the way she has cultivated an appreciation for different cultures, values, and ways of living. Liz hopes to share those experiences with her community by hosting one-of-a-kind retreats in the special places she's explored.
Liz started teaching yoga in 2017 in Thailand, and has gone on to teach in Denver, Honolulu, Honduras, Malaysia, and at Same Same but Different Festival in Southern California. In 2021, she created Island Vibes Yoga as an inclusive space for people to come together and connect through the practice of yoga.
Whether on the mat or beneath the sea, Liz believe in the power of connection – to ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
Taylor’s teaching journey began in 2018 and completing her 500-hour certification in India, she specializes in a range of yoga styles with a focus on self-love and mindfulness. With just as many years of experience in scuba diving, Taylor has discovered the profound connection between the calm of yoga and the beauty of the ocean.
Over the years, she’s traveled to places like India, Egypt, and beyond, hosting retreats and workshops that inspire connection and inner peace. Her retreats bring together these worlds, offering a unique space for exploration, mindfulness, and growth—whether in a studio or beneath the waves.
Join her for a journey that blends yoga, diving, and the serenity of ocean.
